Waterscapes Australia designs and builds natural water features for residential, commercial and municipal landscapes.

We create one-of-a-kind aquatic ecosystems in the form of streams, waterfalls, recreation and ecosystem ponds.

Each feature is individually crafted to blend with your existing landscape “like it has always been there”.

Creating well-balanced ecologies reduces maintenance and supports healthy fish and plants while transforming your backyard into an incredible, all-natural, low-maintenance paradise.

If you want something a little different to a chlorine swimming pool in your yard, you might like to think about adding in a Recreation Pond.

Recreation Ponds can be enjoyed much like a swimming pool, but instead of using chlorine, they use a balanced ecosystem to keep the water clean and clear. These ponds can also have the addition of fish and plants, which makes for a unique and exciting swimming experience.

Want to create a water feature suitable for smaller spaces? Think of incorporating a Pondless waterfall into your garden. These features can be built in confined areas, but still provide running water and tranquility to an area.

Pondless waterfalls have many of the benefits of ecosystem ponds. They can provide a brilliant focal point for a garden, and attract many wonderful native animals. These features can also be designed to integrate intriguing plants into your garden.

Recreation ponds makes a fantastic addition to a range of different spaces. They can be incorporated into the grounds of a resort or built at a doggy day care (such as the one we completed at Houndog in Brisbane). Each recreation pond we create is unique and customised to our clients’ needs. This makes each one different in its own way.

Some – like this one pictured – have many large rocks with a few plants, while others have many different types of plants both around and within the water. When designing your pond with Waterscapes Australia, we love to find out just what type of style you’re after, and then strive to bring it to life, better than you imagined!

If you’re looking to install a pool in your backyard, but would prefer something without chlorine, why not consider a recreation pond instead? We can create swimming ponds large, small, and in-between.

How do they keep so clean and swimmable? Our recreation ponds feature a biological filter that helps keep the water clear all year-round, so you can take a dip whenever you like (provided the weather is nice!)

Waterscapes completed a 14m x 9m lagoon for the unique Houndog Doggy Day Care Adventure Park in Brisbane. Located on 5 acres, Houndog provides a playground in which dogs can socialise and explore. The company was looking to create a doggy lagoon without the use of chemicals, allowing for dogs with sensitive skin to also enjoy a dip.

The construction took more than 10 days to complete, and used a whopping 140 tonner of local granite boulder. The finished result is a stunning ecosystem lagoon complete with waterfalls for dogs to swim and splash about in!

Doonan - Pondless Stream. Completed in 2017, this captivating project is a Pondless stream system designed within a courtyard, demonstrating our knack for creating a dynamic design within a limited space. The client had a vision of a gentle and subtle water feature, with large stepping stones for crossing, and planted areas to screen the bathhouse.

Bolinda Vale Farm, Clarkefield, Victoria. Waterscapes recently took a trip to Bolinda Vale Farm, Clarkefield, Victoria to see the rebuild works @bells_water_gardens carried out on a property there. It was great to catch up with Toby Bell, who led the rebuild of this previously leaky lake system. The rebuild focused on preserving the landscape plantings of the original design.

For this total lake rebuild, Bells Watergardens added Aquascape up-flow wetland filtration, plus addition pumping to improve the circulation of the pond. A large solar system with battery back-up was also added to allow the lake to be run off grid.

Great work Toby and team!
